Matraville Sports High School is a co-educational community high school, in spacious grounds, providing a supportive, caring and disciplined learning environment for all students.
It offers quality academic and sporting facilities, and incorporates a variety of traditional, challenging and innovative courses designed to meet the needs of all students.
The school is well equipped with a modern gymnasium, sports-fields, 6 computer laboratories, a 'connected classroom' (enabling web-cam conferencing), Internet and intranet access in the library, and 6 inter-active whiteboards.
Year 9 students receiving laptop computers as part of the DET 'laptops for learning' program have wireless access to the Internet and the school's intranet.
Students enjoy the advantages of a school where they are known individually by staff and have greater access to facilities. The school offers the opportunity for all students to develop their full potential in a secure and pleasant environment.
Parents and the community are encouraged to participate in the school and, in particular, their child's learning. Acceptance and respect for all cultures is encouraged and the school is recognized for its friendship and tolerance.
Although our Talented Sports Program provides a unique opportunity for students with a special aptitude for sporting activities, the school and its traditional curriculum remains open to all students in the local drawing area and others on application.
Students enrolled in the program are given the opportunity to excel in their particular sport within a curriculum framework that supports them in reaching their academic and sporting goals.
Access to the Talented Sports Program is through application and a selection process. To download a TSP application form, follow the link on our home page.

We would like to acknowledge and pay our respects to the Saltwater Aboriginal people of Coastal Sydney, the descendants who make up the La Perouse Aboriginal community today. We thank and respect the Elders for they hold the traditions, cultures, hopes and dreams for this land we gather on today. Education is the key to success that opens to a brighter future. Therefore, we should all strive to use our knowledge at Matraville Sports High School to become the leaders of today and in the future.
